Bond University Pacific Islanders Student Association

BUPISA is a home away from home for Bond Uni students from the friendly islands of the South Pacific and for our peers who appreciate our island culture.

BUPISA is represented of students from Fiji, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Caribbean Islands, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Kiribati, New Caledonia and many other countries from around the world.

The aims of the association are as follows:
• To create a home away from home and a community founded on the basis of friendship and family to help minimise isolation, homesickness and loneliness for students studying at Bond University;
• To foster awareness, promotion and enhancement of the cultural integrity and identity of the Pacific Islands;
• To establish a sense of unity and cultural connectedness among its members and to strengthen its relationship with Bond University, the wider Gold Coast region and also internationally;
• To create network among the Pacific Islands students, who are the future leaders for the Pacific countries;
• To unite with Bond University and the general public in fundraising activities to enable support and assist our home nations, such as Kiribati, which is adversely affected by climate change;
• To assist students to have strong focus on their professional development in the confines of Pacific leadership, community involvement and initiative.
